Our Story

lotus-campus_post-banner_2_784xLotus Holistic Centre was founded 26 years ago by Glenda Palmer. Leaving a legacy one can only aspire to, Glenda passed the baton on to the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine (NZCCM). Under its new ownership and management, Lotus Holistic Centre become the Lotus Campus of the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine and continues to enrich the well-being of New Zealanders.

The NZCCM Lotus Campus works with the wider community in facilitating the learning of natural therapies such as relaxation and therapeutic massage, naturopathy, reflexology, movement integration, herbal studies and many other modalities. In additional to our long standing current short courses and NZQA approved qualifications NZCCM Lotus Campus now offers a comprehensive introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities with an onsite registered ACC Acupuncture Clinic.

The Certificate in Foundation Studies for Health Maintenance – Traditional Chinese Medicine (level 3) is a great introduction to traditional Chinese ways of looking at maintaining health and wellbeing from an eastern modality perspective. The course introduces several of the Chinese traditions such as massage, herbs, cupping and Qi Gong.

In July 2015, Lotus Campus become the first NZQA registered provider to deliver the newly accredited New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage (Level 5).  This diploma is setting the standards of massage qualifications offered by all NZQA future training massage providers.  Lotus Campus is also the first to be approved to run the NZ Diploma in Remedial Massage Level 6 for 2017.

We have a very welcoming and embracing team of staff who are passionate about sharing their knowledge of natural therapies. The students easily become infected with their excitement.  Our students come to the NZCCM Lotus Campus from all walks of life, and we take pride in providing an environment for growth, self-development and positive learning. Our campus is considered a ‘home away from home’ to many and the regular gatherings on campus enable students to build strong friendships.

NZCCM is rated as a Category 2 PTE. The EER report has designated NZCCM to be Confident in Educational Performance and Confident in self-assessment. We are a signatory to the Code of Practice for International Students.
